School Lunches
Here at Holy Cross we take school lunches very seriously!
We believe that nutritious school meals help improve our readiness to learn, our behaviour at school and the healthy eating habits we are establishing for life.

Reasons we think our school lunches are great:
- Our school lunches offer a varied selection of freshly cooked, seasonal produce that meet the nutritional standards set by the government.
- Lunch time is also a time for us to develop our social skills and try new foods and share this experience with our friends
- Our school lunches are always packed full of fruit and vegetables. Our Kitchen has such high expectations - our school lunches provide more than one portion of fruit and one portion of vegetables every day for each child, helping them to reach their '5 a day'.
- The Kitchen prepares menus that cater for all of us. Any child who has particular requirements is catered for - including those who are vegetarian or who have a special diet. If pupils have allergies or intolerances to certain foods, Maria makes sure that their lunch time experience is the same as every other child.
- Our school meals are very good value. At the moment, our lunches are just £2.20 a day.
- Our school meals are convenient for our parents; they don't have to make packed lunches which saves parents time!
If you would further information about our school lunches or any information regarding food at our school, please do not hesitate to contact us.
